Summary & Explanation

{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"Melanoma-Associated Antigen C2 (MAGEC2), also known as Cancer/Testis Antigen 10 (CT10), belongs to the cancer-testis antigen (CTA) family, a group of proteins normally expressed in germ cells of the testis. It plays a role in promoting tumor growth, metastasis, and tumorigenicity in several cancer types. MAGEC2 can influence the stability and function of other proteins like TRIM28, BS69, STAT3, and Rbx1. In non-neoplastic germ cells, MAGEC2 has a consistent and strong nuclear expression in immature spermatogonia and spermatocytes but weakens gradually with more mature forms like spermatids."}]}]}

Presentation

Five slides of MAGEC2 positive tissues, each mounted on Hydrophilic Plus Slides, provided in a plastic mailer.

Principle of Procedure

Control slides are Hydrophilic Plus Slides with formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue or cell sections mounted on them, serving as a tool to qualitatively verify the performance of immunohistochemical staining
