{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAcP) is a glycosylated monomeric metallo-enzyme expressed in mammals. It has a molecular weight of approximately 35 kDa, a basic isoelectric point (7.6 - 9.5), and optimal activity in acidic conditions. TRAcP is synthesized as a latent proenzyme and is activated by proteolytic cleavage and reduction. Normally, TRAcP is highly expressed by osteoclasts, activated macrophages, neurons and endometrium during pregnancy. According to literature, certain pathological conditions can have increased expression of TRAcP. These include patients with leukemic reticuloendotheliosis (hairy cell leukemia), Gaucher’s disease, HIV-induced encephalopathy, osteoclastoma and in osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases."}]}]}
