{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"Transcription Factor Binding to IGHM Enhancer 3 (TFE3) is a member of the microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MiTF) family of basic helix-loop-helix leucin zipper transcription factors. It binds to specific DNA sequences, known as E-box motifs, within the promoters or enhancers of target genes. The TFE3 transcription factor regulates genes involved in cell cycle progression, cell differentiation, apoptosis, metabolism, and response to environmental stimuli. TFE3 influences glucose and lipid metabolism, autophagy, and the mTOR signaling pathway, which are important for cellular energy balance. TFE3 is expressed at low levels in many cell types. A proportion of renal cell carcinomas (RCC) that occur in young patients are associated with the translocations of TFE3 on the Xp11.2 locus of X chromosome, which results in highly expressed TFE3."}]}]}
