Summary & Explanation

{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"PAX-2 (Paired Box 2) is a transcription factor that plays crucial roles in the development of the embryonic kidney, urogenital system, and central nervous system. PAX-2 is essential for the formation and differentiation of the metanephric kidney, where it regulates the expression of genes involved in nephrogenesis of the renal tubules, glomeruli, and collecting ducts. PAX-2 is also involved in the development of other structures in the urogenital system- including the ureter, bladder, and genital tract- and the neural tube in the central nervous system.\nAberrant expression of PAX-2 has been observed in renal cell carcinoma (RCC), ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, and bladder cancer. In some studies, high expression of PAX-2 has been associated with poor prognosis and disease progression in certain cancer types, while in others, its expression has been linked to better outcomes."}]}]}

Presentation

Five slides of PAX-2 positive tissues, each mounted on Hydrophilic Plus Slides, provided in a plastic mailer.

Principle of Procedure

Control slides are Hydrophilic Plus Slides with formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue or cell sections mounted on them, serving as a tool to qualitatively verify the performance of immunohistochemical staining
