Summary & Explanation
{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"HGAL or GCET2, also known as human germinal center-associated lymphoma or germinal center B-cell expressed transcript 2, is an important marker in lymphomas derived from germinal centers. Analysis of the GCET2 protein sequence indicated that it may be involved in signal transduction in the cytoplasm. The GCET2 gene comprises 6 exons and encodes a cytoplasmic protein of 178 amino acids that contains an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM). GCET2 and another germinal center B-cell expressed transcript, GCET1 have differential expression in normal and neoplastic B cells and the expression of the GCET2 gene is specifically induced in B cells by interleukin-4."}]}]}
Presentation
Five slides of hGAL/GCET2 positive tissues, each mounted on Hydrophilic Plus Slides, provided in a plastic mailer.
Principle of Procedure
Control slides are Hydrophilic Plus Slides with formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue or cell sections mounted on them, serving as a tool to qualitatively verify the performance of immunohistochemical staining
