Summary & Explanation

{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"TRPS1 (Trichorhinophalangeal Syndrome Type 1), a member of the GATA transcription factor family is a transcriptional repressor that regulates genes involved in chondrogenesis, osteogenesis, and bone remodeling in normal skeletal development, and the maintenance of cell cycle progression. TRPS1 modulates cell proliferation, apoptosis, and DNA repair, thus dysregulation of TRPS1 expression can contribute to tumorigenesis. TRPS1 has been implicated as a tumor suppressor and an oncogene, as aberrant expression has a variety of effects: loss of TRPS1 expression is observed in more aggressive breast cancer, while overexpression of TRPS1 has been detected in primary and metastasizing prostate cancer. TRPS1 dysregulation has also been observed in other cancer types, including colon cancer, ovarian cancer, and glioblastoma."}]}]}

Presentation

Five slides of TRPS1 positive tissues, each mounted on Hydrophilic Plus Slides, provided in a plastic mailer.

Principle of Procedure

Control slides are Hydrophilic Plus Slides with formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue or cell sections mounted on them, serving as a tool to qualitatively verify the performance of immunohistochemical staining
