Summary & Explanation

{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"FOXP1 is part of the forkhead box (FOX) transcription factor family. Forkhead box transcription factors play important roles in regulation of tissue and cell-type specific gene transcription during both development and adulthood. The FOXP1 protein contains both DNA-binding- and protein-protein binding-domains. FOXP1 is a transcriptional repressor and is responsible for regulating a variety of important aspects of development including tissue development of the lungs, brain, thymus and heart. It is also important in muscle development of the esophagus and esophageal epithelium and for regulating lung airway morphogenesis."}]}]}
