DOG-1 ion channel activity regulates membrane potential, cell volume, and fluid secretion in various tissues, including luminal surface of the gastric body and antral mucosa, salivary glands, pancreatic acini, intrahepatic bile ducts, gallbladder glandular elements, as well as breast and prostatic myoepithelial/basal cells. According to literature, DOG-1 is highly expressed in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), particularly those lacking KIT or PDGFRA mutations, and can help distinguish GIST from other mesenchymal neoplasms. DOG-1 expression has been reported in other tumor types, including breast cancer, prostate cancer, and salivary gland tumors."}]}]}
