There are two types of cytokeratins: acidic type I cytokeratins and basic or neutral type II cytokeratins. Cytokeratins are usually found in pairs comprising a type I cytokeratin and a type II cytokeratin. Expression of these cytokeratins is frequently organ or tissue specific. Cytokeratin 34βE12 detects type I and type II high molecular weight cytokeratins 1, 5, 10, and 14 that are found in complex epithelia. These cytokeratins can be found in all squamous and ductal epithelium and some carcinomas."}]}]}
