There are two types of cytokeratins: acidic type I cytokeratins and basic or neutral type II cytokeratins. Cytokeratins are usually found in pairs comprising a type I cytokeratin and a type II cytokeratin. Expression of these cytokeratins is frequently organ or tissue specific. Cytokeratin 7 (CK7) is a type II basic low molecular weight cytokeratin expressed in simple and glandular epithelia cells. It is found in various organs, including lung, breast, ovary, endometrial, thyroid, and bladder.\nCDX2 (Caudal Type Homeobox 2) transcription factor regulates the expression of essential genes in intestinal epithelial cell proliferation, differentiation, and establishment of regional identity in the gastrointestinal tract. CDX2 also controls colonic epithelial fate for cells involved in cell adhesion, mucin production, and barrier integrity, and acts as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting cell proliferation. It is expressed in the nuclei of epithelial cells throughout the intestine, from duodenum to rectum."}]}]}
