The major downstream effectors of Myc include those involved in ribosome biogenesis, protein translation, cell-cycle progression and metabolism. These processes orchestrate a broad range of biological functions, such as cell proliferation, differentiation, survival, and immune surveillance. Myc is frequently deregulated in various cancers. Overexpression or activation of c-Myc can drive uncontrolled cell proliferation and tumor growth, as observed in solid tumors such as breast cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, and neuroblastoma, and in hematological malignancies, especially Burkitt lymphoma. A common translocation involving c-Myc oncogene on chromosome 8 and immunoglobulin gene on chromosomes 2, 14, or 22 is critical to the development of most cases of Burkitt’s lymphoma."}]}]}
