The most common reason for recurrence of skin cancers after Mohs micrographic surgery is undetected residual tumor. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of frozen tissue has demonstrated greater sensitivity than routine H&E stains, which are difficult to interpret. Bio SB has developed a highly sensitive, biotin-free monovalent Fab micropolymeric IHC detection system for the detection of IVD antibodies for melanoma, basal and squamous cell carcinomas, and other Mohs surgery-related conditions.
Our innovative detection systems for IHC and high-affinity monoclonal antibodies have opened the doors to faster and more accurate immunohistochemistry applicable to Mohs surgery.
Bio SB Mohs PolyDetector technology was developed with our proprietary micropolymer base, conjugated to the anti-mouse and anti-rabbit IgG Fab fraction, plus the high-quality Peroxidase enzyme. Removal of the Fc region of the immunoglobulin reduces nonspecific and background reactions. This ensures consistent and reproducible immunostaining for all types of nuclear, cytoplasmic and membranous antigens, in different tissue types. The higher sensitivity of this system allows for rapid staining procedures without compromising staining quality. The Bio SB Mohs PolyDetector HRP detection system is recommended for easy to detect antigens such as MART-1 and Cytokeratins in 5 to 10 min. For other antigens, especially nuclear such as PRAME, SOX-10, MiTF, p40, p63 and other difficult-to-detect proteins, we recommend the Mohs PolyDetector Plus HRP detection system.
